In addition to the activities posted, please remember to keep in mind your child’s IEP goals. These are important skills that can be addressed through everyday interactions and learning.
For example, your child’s IEP goal may be "identify common objects". Look at the world around you and use it! Help your child explore their environments by pointing and labeling the things you see!
Another goal may be to build with blocks. This is a great way to connect with your child while helping them to meet their goal. Be sure to include their siblings during this activity so you can encourage sharing and turn taking. When the activity is all done, you can work on the skill of cleaning up and putting the items away.
Playing with simple toys like cars, trains, animals, instruments, etc is an easy and fun way for your children to develop play skills. Help them imitate you performing actions appropriate for the toy and make sounds to go along with them!
These simple, everyday things are natural ways of helping your child work on the skills they need to succeed.
