Week 2, Day 8: March 25, 2020
Happy Hump Day! Hope everyone is having a good week and staying healthy!
I was wondering if everyone could email me to tell me how it is going with the ipads the district provided to you. Just want to take an informal survey of whether or not it is being utilized. Why or why not? Any trouble with it? Thank you in advance!
Here are some things to introduce or consider practicing when working with your child today and every day…Modify these skills as you see fit.
Practice imitation skills with your child. This encourages eye contact and connection with him/her. Ex: Clap your hands and have them imitate that action immediately after.
Practice counting sets of 3, 5, 10. Use pennies, crayons, or anything that you have laying around the house.
Practice cutting skills. Cut snips, cut through different types of paper, or draw straight, curved or zig zags and assist when needed to stay on the line.
Practice stacking. You can use blocks, cups, even soda cans. This helps in balancing and eye-hand coordination and it’s fun!
